Integrated Computational Materials Engineering for Steel Alloy and Process Design
Modelling is becoming increasingly more important in industry and academia to systematically design and investigate alloys and processes.
The primary objective of this course is to give an introduction into the integrated modeling of micorstructures and properties of steels. Models based on themodynamic-kinetic and thermomechanical approaches are utilized for the quantitiative correlations of micorstructure and mechanical properties.
Different modelling approaches will be introduced and used in small groups:
- Molecular Dynamics
- Density Functional Theory
- SFE Calc
- Phase Field Method
- FEM / CP-FEM
- Damage Mechanics
- Finite elements FE and metallurgy
